With the introduction of the brand-new 3X trim, which will be offered for both the 2023 Hummer EV truck and 2024 Hummer SUV, GMC is increasing the lineup for its all-electric Hummer. The fully reserved Edition 1 trim now includes the 3X.
The 3X and Edition 1 models of the SUV are now offered with a new “on-road” setup that consists of 22-inch alloy wheels and 35-inch all-terrain tires. These tires, according to GMC, were created to offer greater on-road performance.
Customers who want to keep the exceptional off-road capabilities of the Hummer EV can select the Extreme Off-Road Package, which is offered on the Edition 1 and 3X variations of the SUV and the 3X trim of the pickup. The kit includes additional skid plates, underbody cameras, rocker protection with built-in help steps, 18-inch wheels, 35-inch mud-terrain tires, and additional skid plates.
Range is impacted by both choices. GMC claims that the on-road configuration of the Hummer EV 3X trucks will have a 355-mile range on a full charge, while those with the Extreme Off-Road Package have a 329-mile range, which is identical to the Edition 1 model. On-road Hummer EV 3X SUVs will have a range of 314 miles, while Edition 1 and 3X SUVs with the off-road kit have a range of 298 miles.
The Edition 1’s three-motor configuration is shared by the 3X variants of the Hummer EV truck and SUV, which have a combined 1,000 horsepower in the pickup and 830 horsepower in the SUV. They also both have 11,500 pounds-feet of torque. Except for the 3X truck, which has an 8,500-pound towing capability, all Hummer EVs have a 7,500-pound towing capacity.
The Hummer series is currently sold out, according to the brand, and GMC has not yet disclosed pricing details for the Hummer 3X trim for any model.
